Lewiston MAINEiacs News Release

The Lewiston MAINEiacs are in the midst of a 7 game homestand - with some big games ahead of them. This weekend start tonight against the Western Division leaders - the Gatineau Olympiques. The MAINEiacs tied the Olympiques on Monday night in La Belle Province and are looking to for 2 points this time.

The weekend wraps up on Sunday afternoon at 4:00 pm with another Western Division team, the Val d'Or Foreurs. The MAINEiacs are sure to be looking to exact a little revenge after losing to Val D'Or last Sunday.

Next week heats up with our Divisional Rival, the Baie Comeau Drakkar. Games between the MAINEiacs and the Drakkar are always tough physical affairs, and who can forget what happened against this team last December 27th at the Colisee?

Next weekend is sure to be one of the most anticipated match-ups as the MAINEiacs host the Rimouski Oceanic in back to back home games - Friday and Saturday night, each at 7:00 pm. Rimouski brings with them 17-year old phenom, Sidney Crosby who was on a greater than 3-point per game scoring average (22 points in 7 games) before he was knocked out of the lineup from injury. All indications are that he should be back in action - ready to go in Lewiston. The Oceanic are one the most offensive teams in the league, with or without Crosby - so these games are bound to be nothing short of exceptional.

Friday night is also Lighting Concepts Night - as all fans in attendance can bring their ticket stub(Oct 22) to Lighting Concepts to save 15% off their next purchase. Also, lots of Lighting Concepts/MAINEiacs shirts will be given away to the kids.

Saturday night's game is Tri-Sports Suzuki Night where the first 1,500 fans will receive a Tri-Sports/MAINEiacs Hunting hat upon entering the building.

The October homestand wraps up on Wednesday, October 27th against the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies at 7:00 pm at the Colisee.
