
MAINEiacs lose in Shoot-Out to Saint John, 4-3

Lewiston MAINEiacs News Release
Lewiston, ME - After 60 minutes of regulation, 5 minutes of 4-on-4 overtime action - the Saint John Sea Dogs captured the win against the Lewiston MAINEiacs in a shoot-out 4-3 in front of 2,562 boisterous fans.
Saint John opened the scoring in the first period on a powerplay goal by Alexandre Monahan which proved to be the only goal scored in the first. Three goals were scored in the second - two by the Sea Dogs and one by the MAINEiacs. The first Saint John goal was another power play goal by Sebastien Rioux with the assist going to Jonathan Laberge who also assisted on the first Saint John goal. Alexandre Labonte scored the second of that period for the Sea Dogs. Pier-Luc Champagne scored his fourth goal of the season to put the MAINEiacs on the board making it 3-1 after the second. Lewiston hustled in the third and notched two goals - the first by Marc-Andre Cliché and the second by Mathieu Aubin which was his 41st goal of the season - which is a record for the MAINEiacs for number of goals scored by a single player during the regular season.
The overtime period solved nothing so it was off to the shoot-out. In the shoot-out, Lewiston sent out Cliché, Paiement, and Aubin. For Saint John Sparling (goal), Lambert, and Schutz were the shooters.
