Lewiston, ME - The MAINEiacs were firing on all cylinders on Friday night against division rivals Victoriaville. The MAINEiacs defeated the Tigres 7-2 on Friday night at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee. The win helps the MAINEiacs inch their way up the standings, gaining 2 points on the Tigres tonight.
Lewiston rookie forward Pierre-Olivier Morin scored 2 goals and 2 assists on Friday; one goal on the power play and another short handed. Eric Gelinas and Alex Beaton both scored three points, getting one goal and two assists each. The Lewiston power play scored on 3 of their 8 opportuinties, turining in one of the best performances of the year.
Peter Delmas earned the win for the MAINEiacs and faced 32 Victoriaville shots. Tigres netminder Antoinio Mastropietro took the loss for the visitors and saw 29 Lewiston shots. The three stars of the game were 1) Pierre-Olivier Morin (LEW), 2) Alex Beaton (LEW), 3) Eric Gelinas (LEW).
The MAINEiacs will have a rematch with the Tigres tomorrow night at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee at 7:00 PM.
