Mahon Introduced as Wheat Kings New Play-By-Play Voice

Brandon, MB - Pattison Media and the Brandon Wheat Kings are excited to introduce Rob Mahon as the new voice of the Wheat Kings.

"I am thrilled, proud, and excited to be joining the Brandon Wheat Kings organization. To return to my home province and be the voice of the team that made me fall in love with junior hockey in the first place is an honour. I can't wait to get started this season and am looking forward to calling Brandon home," said Mahon.

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Mahon graduated from the Creative Communications program at Red River College with a major in journalism. For the last two seasons, he has been the voice of the Prince Albert Raiders (WHL). Previous to that role he has experience as the play-by-play announcer of the Estevan Bruins for four years in the SJHL. Prior to his time in Estevan, Mahon executed play-by-play for the Manitoba Bison men's hockey team, while also calling games in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.

Mahon will officially join the club in August as the teams Media Relations and Broadcast Director. Pattison Media has taken over ownership of CKLQ-FM AND CKLF-FM and will continue to have the Wheat Kings live on air on Q Country 91.5FM and 880AM.
