Moncton Magic News Release

(Moncton, NB.) With less than 2 weeks remaining until the start of their 2019 training camp, the Magic have made one last splash in the off-season signing department. The team announced today they have come to terms with former NBL Canada All-star, Justin Moss.

Moss, who hails from Detroit, Michigan played in 67 games for the Brampton/Orangeville A's from 2015-2017. He was named to the NBL Canada All-Rookie team in 2016, after averaging an impressive 19.3 points, and 8.7 rebounds per game during his first season in the professional ranks. He was also named an All-NBL Canada 3rdteam selection following his inaugural season in the league.

The 6'8", 235lb forward returned to the A's for the 2016-17 season, putting up stellar numbers once again, averaging 18.4 points, and 7.6 rebounds per game. His consistent numbers, and blue-collar type play did not go unnoticed by Magic Head Coach and GM of Player Operations Joe Salerno.

"Justin was as dominant a force as we have seen during his time in the NBL. He is an absolute menace in the paint and on the glass. He brings a real hard hat mentality to the game" stated Salerno, "and can be a real matchup nightmare for a lot of teams."

Moss was an NCAA Division 1 standout at the University of Buffalo. He earned back to back conference Championships his junior and senior seasons, before being named the MAC's Conference Player of the Year in 2015 and leading the Bulls to their first ever NCAA tournament appearance in school history.

For the past two seasons, Moss has been playing professionally in France, but claims he is looking forward to coming back and playing in Canada.

"It's a great honor and opportunity for the league champs to think that I can help contribute and bring a repeat championship back to the city of Moncton. I'm looking forward to working with this organization" stated Moss.

Salerno stated that with Moss's signing, the team has finalized their training camp roster. The Magic are set to open camp on November 14th, at Crandall University. The team's annual Inter-squad game will be held on November 19th, also at Crandall. Tickets for the contest can be purchased at the door, which will open to the public at 6:15pm. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00pm.
