Macon Knights to Hold Open Tryout in San Antonio, Texas Saturday, February 15th

MACON, Ga. – The Macon Knights of arenafootball2 will continue to assemble their 2003 roster by holding an open tryout in San Antonio, Texas. The tryout will be held Saturday, February 15th at St. Anthony Catholic High School.

Registration will begin at 8:00 am and the tryout will begin at 9:00 am. A $50 registration fee is due prior to the tryout. The fee can be paid in advance or the day of the tryout. Payment can be made in cash, or by money order/cashiers' check made payable to GSE, L.L.C.

Participants need to bring cleats and wear shorts/sweat pants and a T-shirt/sweatshirt. All drills will be conducted on grass. Participants will be tested in the 40-yard dash, shuttle run and standing broad jump and put through a series of non-contact drills.

Interested participants can download registration forms by visiting the Knights' website at www.maconknights.com. Completed registration forms can be emailed to coachsully@msn.com, or turned in the day of the tryout.

Last season, the Knights finished 14-4 and won the American Conference Eastern Division Championship. The Knights have made the playoffs in both of their seasons of existence and were named af2 Expansion Team of the Year in 2001.

Entering its fourth season, arenafootball2 serves as a grassroots, developmental indoor football league for players, coaches and officials with teams in small- to mid-size markets throughout the United States. af2 operates under the same Mission Statement and Fans' Bill of Rights as the AFL, which kicks off its 17th season and first with NBC on Sunday, February 2, 2003. NBC will provide the AFL with unprecedented exposure by televising up to 70 games, including all playoff contests and ArenaBowl XVII on June 22.
