Texas Wildcatters News Release

BEAUMONT, TX (May 18, 2004) – Texas Wildcatters Head Coach Robert Dirk announced today the Wildcatters and defenseman Aaron MacInnis have agreed to terms for the 2004-05 season. As per club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 25-year-old MacInnis was acquired in early January from the Cincinnati Cyclones and finished the season with a plus/minus of +7, second best among Wildcatters. After playing four seasons at the University of Prince Edward Island, the rookie defenseman netted three goals, including two game-winning goals for Texas. The Port Hood, NS native is the nephew of St. Louis Blues All-Star defenseman Al MacInnis.

"The Wildcatters provided me with a great situation and I had a good second half of the season," said MacInnis. "I liked everything about Southeast Texas from the players and coach, to the fans and the building, it's a perfect fit."

The Wildcatters have been busy early this off-season. MacInnis joins All-Star forward John Snowden who agreed to terms last week. "Now I can focus on getting ready for training camp in Texas," added MacInnis.

"Aaron joined the team halfway through the season and did a great job in both ends of the rink," said Dirk. "He is a solid two-way defenseman with a lot of upside that can play the physical game as well."

Season tickets for the 2004-05 season are now on sale. For as little as $50.00, you can reserve your seat for the second year of Wildcatters hockey in Southeast Texas. Season ticket holders enjoy the same great seats for all 36 games without waiting in line at the box office and free parking. A private meet and greet party with the players, merchandise discounts, ticket exchange program and a gift from the team are some of the many additional benefits of being a season ticket holder.
