Chicago Machine News Release
"Look Mommy!" exclaimed Conner as he picked up a ground ball off the field. Conner Ash was one of over 50 children who came out to the Chicago Machine Training Camp this weekend to participate in the free youth clinic offered by Head Coach Kevin Finneran and the Chicago Machine players. For an hour, kids were instructed by players like Todd Rassas, Chris Malone, and Kevin Boland - to name a few - on proper techniques in cradling, defensive strategy, and shooting. Machine goalie Mike Gabel stood in goal as a line of clinic participants formed to take shots on the professional goalie.
Last weekend, the Chicago Machine held training camp at Glenbrook South High School in Glenview, Illinois. "It is nice to finallly experience pro lacrosse in the city of Chicago," said Machine defenseman Todd Rassas. "If the team continues to compete the way they did this weekend, the Machine will be hard to beat."
The Machine will continue into its third weekend of training camp on Saturday, May 13 at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois. This will be the final training camp before the season begins in Denver on May 20, 2006 as the Machine takes on the Denver Outlaws.
Next weekend's training camp will include another free youth clinic offered by the Machine for both boys and girls from 1:00pm-2:00pm. All boys and girls interested in learning lacrosse from the pros are welcome to attend the clinic. After the clinic, come and watch the Machine practice during their afternoon session of training camp from 2:00pm-4:00pm. The Machine will be playing on East McCully Field - the soccer stadium.
Wheaton College is located at 501 College Avenue, Wheaton, IL.
