Portland Lumberjax News Release
The Portland LumberJax General Manager/Head Coach Derek Keenan announced today the acquisition of defenseman Matt Dwane from the Edmonton Rush in exchange for the Jax second round selection in the 2007 entry draft. The trade signifies the ninth player that played for Keenan and his coaching staff last season in Anaheim. Dwane is the sixteenth player on the expansion team's roster.
The 5'10" 210lb native of Richmond, British Columbia enters his fifth season in the league as solid a defenseman who has played in all but two games in his first four seasons in the National Lacrosse League. Dwane played in all 16 games last season for the Storm with 11 goals, 14 assists, and 25 points.
"Dwane is another tremendous addition and a player that I know very well from coaching last season in Anaheim," said Keenan. "He brings a wealth of speed and scoring ability as a defenseman. While our franchise takes shape with additions such as Dwane, this is an exciting time to witness our growth from the ground up."
Tickets to the LumberJax for each of the nine home games range from $10.00-$25.00, with additional VIP seating available. Deposits are now being accepted for season tickets starting at $90.00, by calling 503.235.8771 or go to www.PortlandJax.com.
