Schroeder is departing the Muskegon scene after a highly-successful one-year tour of duty with the Lumberjacks organization. In his new position, the product of both Purdue U. and Michigan State U. will serve as the Head Athletic Trainer for the NY Islanders primary AHL affiliate, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, located in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Rule recently completed his Master's Degree in athletic training at West Virginia U. where he also plied his craft and expertise as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the school of the Mountaineers. Previously, he had earned his BA in May of 2006 at Purdue in West Lafayette, Indiana.
His experiences have been gained through seasonal as well as summer internships in the National Football League with the Jacksonville Jaguars and the New England Patriots. He received his certification in Athletic Training in June 2006 before beginning his two-year stint at WVU.
Lumberjacks General Manager / Governor Tim Taylor lauded both his outgoing and incoming leaders of the hockey club's training staff. "First and foremost, we would like to thank Mike for giving us a truly outstanding year in 2008-09. Mike did an especially outstanding job and it is great to see him have the opportunity to advance. Our organization is very happy for him and we wish him nothing but the best. We look forward to watching him continue his progress in the hockey world."
At the same time, Muskegon's GM is looking forward as well to welcoming Jason Rule to the team. "Jason has come to us being highly-recommended by Mike and because of that, it made our decision a rather easy one. We welcome Jason to the Lumberjacks and our golden anniversary season!"
Rule lands here with a dossier replete with some excellent certifications paramount to achieving the highest order of success in his new position. Most recently, in 2009, he attained his Performance Enhancement Specialist Certification; in May 2009, he earned his Graston Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization Certification as well as his American Red Cross CPE Certification.
