Lumberjacks Look Foward to Their 50th Anniversary Season in the IHL

MUSKEGON, MI. --- The Muskegon Lumberjacks, proud members of the International Hockey League, have released the following statement pertinent to the upcoming 2009-10 IHL pro hockey season.

The Muskegon Lumberjacks are enthusiastically looking forward to the 50th Anniversary Season of professional hockey at the L.C. Walker Arena in the IHL.

The ownership and management of the Lumberjacks organization is especially excited about the many celebrations and innovative promotional activities planned for this upcoming special season involving the entire Muskegon and Lakeshore community and the Lumberjacks nation.

Moreover, the Muskegon Lumberjacks organization is energized by the IHL's strong commitment to growth; especially as it creates a positive influence for the total picture of our partnership in the IHL. We are looking forward to the opportunity of welcoming new league members as part of our overall preparation for our 50th Anniversary campaign.

Presently, our season tickets' sales have considerably eclipsed last year's pace at this time while our corporate sales activities and projections are right on schedule.

The Lumberjacks organization also has been buoyed from the 2008-09 season game attendance increase of over 20% which represented the largest increase of any team in the league further validating and advancing the enthusiasm and excitement of IHL hockey.

As the Lumberjacks continue to plot and plan for the 2009-10 IHL season, even more and exciting announcements are anticipated; including the naming of a new head coach and new radio package presentation for the 50th Anniversary Season.
