Both games will start at 7:10 pm EST from Mercy Health Arena in downtown Muskegon. This series will mark the first time the Lumberjacks have played Dubuque this season, with the most recent matchup between these two teams since April 22, 2021.

Scouting the Saints

This will be another tough test for Muskegon as Dubuque has yet to lose a game in regulation, coming in with a record of 4-0-2-2 and currently sitting in third place in the Eastern Conference standings, just behind Madison and Chicago. In their most recent outing, the Saints dropped a 3-to-2 decision in a shootout to the top-placed Steel following a 5-to-3 win over the Des Moines Buccaneers. Leading the way for the Saints is forward Tristan Lemyre who currently leads the team in goals and points, with six goals and five assists for 11 points in all eight games with the Saints this season. The Mirabel, Quebec native is committed to the University of Denver in the NCHC. On defense, look out for Axel Kumlin, who has appeared in eight games this year, totaling one goal and five assists for six points from the blueline. In goal, the Saints are well covered with Philip Svedebäck, who stands a tall 6'3" and weighs 205 pounds. Through five games this season, Svedebäck has a 3-0-2 record, with a 2.58 GAA and a .904 save percentage. The Stockholm, Sweden native was selected by the Boston Bruins #117 overall in the fourth round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft and is also committed to Providence College out of Hockey East.

About Last Weekend

The Lumberjacks came up empty-handed on their most recent trip to Madison, Wisc. after getting swept by the Capitols last weekend. Friday's tilt saw a seesaw battle with Muskegon flirting with the lead numerous times, but could not hold on for victory as the Capitols scored four unanswered goals in the third period to double up the Jacks in the 6-to-4 loss. Finnish forward Emil Jarventie scored his first USHL career goal while David Hymovitch broke through on the scoresheet for the first time this season since coming back from injury. Saturday's match did not start out well for the visitors, as the Capitols quickly jumped out in front with a pair of goals just over two minutes into the opening period. The Jacks battled back to make it a close game, with lamplighters from captain Jack Williams, Quinn Hutson, Joey Larson, and Ben Strinden, but the writing was on the wall for the Lumberjacks as they fell to Madison 6-to-4. In the end, Muskegon now is on a three-game losing streak, falling to eighth place in the Eastern Conference standings with a record of 1-5-1-1 on the year.
