Providence, RI -- The Providence Bruins and Lowell Lock Monsters played Game 2 of their best-of-seven Atlantic Division Finals series on Saturday night at Tsongas Arena, with the Lock Monsters evening the series at 1-1 by way of their 4-0 win. The Bruins, playing the 99th playoff game in franchise history, were shut out for just the sixth time ever. It was the first shutout of the Bruins since April 18, 2003, when the Manitoba Moose took a 1-0 decision in Providence in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. The teams return to action in Game 3 on Wednesday, May 11 in Lowell at 7:00 p.m. Game action can be heard live on WDDZ AM-550 and online at www.providencebruins.com.

Providence goaltender Hannu Toivonen made 33 saves and is 5-3 the playoffs.

Lowell center Eric Staal scored a penalty shot goal at 15:46 of the third period. The penalty shot attempt was the first against the Bruins in their 11-year playoff history.

The series will shift to Providence on Friday, May 13 at 7:05 p.m., when the Bruins and Lock Monsters face off in Game 4. Game 5, if necessary, will also be played in Providence, on Saturday, May 14 at 7:05 p.m. Fans attending the games will receive free noisemaker clappers, courtesy the Bruins' Second Round Playoff Sponsors, Dunkin' Donuts, The Martone Group, National City Mortgage, Stanley Bostitch and Arden Engineering.
