KOLBY'S KICKERS FOUNDATION RAISING MONEY FOR 'FIELDS OF HOPE: ETHIOPIA' SATURDAY
When you come to cheer on the Lightning at Mockingbird, you may not realize the impact your favorite players are having off the pitch here and around the world. One of those players is Kolby Lacrone, who has his own non-profit organization called the Kolby's Kickers Foundation.
The Kolby's Kickers Foundation was created to provide developmentally disabled and disadvantaged children hope and opportunity through soccer. Now, Kolby's Kickers is taking on its biggest project to date. The foundation is kicking off a project called 'Fields of Hope' to build new soccer fields in Ethiopia, as well as provide equipment to kids who would otherwise be without suitable gear. The foundation will be raising money and collecting donations at Saturday's game against the Illinois Piasa. For more information on the foundation and its mission, check out their website or 'like' their Facebook page for more updates. LIGHTNING COACH TED NICHOLS SAYS TEAM IS ENDURING GROWING PAINS IN SECOND SEASON
The Louisville Lightning let a close game slip away Saturday at Detroit, but the Lightning are still in the hunt for a PASL playoff berth. Despite the rocky start to the season, Lightning coach Ted Nichols says it's an important part of growing as a franchise. Nichols said this week he was proud of his team and knows they'll learn from Saturday's disappointing loss.

LIGHTNING LOSE HEARTBREAKER TO DETROIT WAZA SATURDAY NIGHT
The Louisville Lightning had their four-game winning streak snapped last Saturday at Detroit. After taking a 5-3 lead into halftime, the Lightning couldn't hang on as the Waza escaped with a 10-9 victory in overtime. Despite the loss, several Lightning stars had a fantastic game as they prepare for Saturday's home against Illinois.
LIGHTNING CRUISE PAST OHIO VORTEX FRIDAY IN CANTON The Lightning picked up their fourth win in a row last Friday when they easily slipped past the Ohio Vortex 11-4. The Lightning opened up a seven-goal lead at the end of the third period after a tight first half, then never let up.
The Lightning are back in action this Saturday against the Illinois Piasa at Mockingbird. It's the second-to-last home game of the season, but there is still plenty to be determined as we fight for a playoff spot. We'll have college night with a great deal for students, plus $1 beers all night. We also have a special night planned as the Kolby's Kickers Foundation will be raising money for a great cause in Ethiopia. We need your support as we host the Piasa Saturday at 8 PM. Go Lightning!
