
Louisiana's Adam Courchaine Named Easton Player of the Week

HUNTERSVILLE, NC (November 24, 2015) - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced goaltender Adam Courchaine of the Louisiana IceGators is the Easton Player of the Week for November 16-22.
Acquired in a trade with Mississippi this past offseason, Courchaine went 2-1-0, posting a 2.33 goals-against average and .930 save percentage as he helped the IceGators take two of three road games against Peoria, despite the IceGators being outshot 127-70 over the three-game series.
The Kanata, Ontario native made 47 saves, including 21 in the third period, in a 3-2 overtime win over Peoria on Friday, as the Rivermen outshot Louisiana 49-20. Courchaine followed that up on Saturday by stopping 38 of 40 shots as the IceGators defeated Peoria 5-2. Courchaine closed out the weekend on Sunday by making 35 saves in a 3-2 loss to the Rivermen.
Now in his fifth professional season and first with the IceGators, Courchaine helped lead the ECHL's Alaska Aces to the 2011 Kelly Cup Championship. Courchaine went 17-7-1-1 during the regular season that year, posting a 2.39 goals-against average and was named the ECHL Goaltender of the Month for February. He has seven career American?Hockey League games with Providence, going 2-1-0 with a 2.06 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage.
