Louisiana Swashbucklers Team with Team Green of Southwest Louisiana

Louisiana Swashbucklers News Release


The Louisiana Swashbucklers of the Professional Indoor Football League and Team Green of Southwest Louisiana, city of Lake Charles Mayor's commission, announced today a partnership promoting recycling and environmental awareness. The Swashbucklers first home game of the season on March 17th at Lake Charles Civic Center arena, 900 Lakeshore Drive, will be dedicated to the recycling program and will be dedicated to the Team Green programs in the area.

Chris Meaux President and General Manager of the Louisiana Swashbucklers stated "We are excited to team up with Team Green to help promote and bring more awareness to the recycling programs of Southwest Louisiana. The efforts made by the Team Green staff and volunteers are very important to the future of our area and the quality of life we will leave for our children and grandchildren. This area has a rich tradition centered around our natural resources and it is imperative we do all we can to preserve these resources for future generations".

Team Green and Louisiana Swashbucklers partnership will help improve our community through education, awareness, and environmental beautification.

As part of our tailgate and game celebration, Team Green recycling bins and trucks will be stationed at the Civic Center tailgate area and in the arena and fans are encouraged to recycle their tailgate party items in the bins outdoors and in the arena. In addition Team Green staff and volunteers will be recognized on the field at half time.

Lake Charles Mayor Randy Roach will be the honorary captain and will do the coin toss for the opening game of the season against the Alabama Hammers.

The Tailgate party begins at 5:00 PM on the west side Civic Center parking lot and kickoff is at 7:30 in the Civic Center arena.
