Louisiana Signs First Six for 2006

LAKE CHARLES - The Louisiana Swashbucklers have added six outstanding athletes to start off this years' team. Swashbucklers' stars Ryan Garrison, Jerrell Zeno and Shaun Piper have re-signed with the team this week. The"Buc's" have also signed newcomers Buck Harris (FB), LJ Daugherty (K) and Wes Cooper (QB).

Ryan Garrison, a standout linebacker from McNeese State, made his presence known when he joined the team midway through the Swashbucklers' 2005 season. He is a big body in the middle at Linebacker and has great awareness and speed.

Jerrell Zeno, also from McNeese State resigned a one-year deal to anchor the defensive line. Zeno is known for is great speed and pass rushing capability.

Shaun Piper was one of the top playmakers in 2005 at wide receiver on an offense that averaged over 44 points per game. He is keyed up to have another great year.

Buck Harris was a standout defensive tackle at McNeese State last year but will play fullback his rookie season for Louisiana.

L.J. Daugherty from Nichols State has signed as the new boot kicker for the team.

Wes Cooper who looks to make an immediate impact at the quarterback position is the first QB signed. "I'm extremely excited about our first group of players. We have signed three veterans and three outstanding rookies to start off what will be a busy month for our franchise", new General Manager Scott Blanchard concluded.

The Louisiana Swashbucklers 2006 season kicks off on April 22nd against the Corpus Christi Hammerheads. Season tickets are on sale now.
