Fresno FC News Release
FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno Foxes are proud to announce their second annual #BuiltForFresno Day of Service, in which players, coaches, and front office members will come together and spend the morning volunteering at various sites.
"The Valley is home to wonderful people who have welcomed our organization with open arms and we want to take our appreciation and gratitude further than just the pitch. Last year's Built For Fresno Day was a tremendous day of giving back, and we're thrilled to be doing it again with some amazing organizations that do so much for Fresno area," said general manager Frank Yallop.
This Wednesday, May 1st, Fresno FC will volunteer with Terry's House of Community Medical Centers, the Fresno Bully Rescue, and United Cerebral Palsy. Beginning at 7 a.m., volunteers will cook a warm breakfast meal for the guests at Terry's House, a home-away-from-home for out-of-town guests who have family members in critical care at Community Regional Medical Center. The Foxes will also help beautify the property and clean the facility to help prepare it for future visitors. On average, Terry's House hosts 50 guests every night.
At 9 a.m. at the Fresno Bully Rescue in Sanger, a no-kill shelter for bully breeds, members of Fresno FC will help around the property, improving the site for the dogs as well as bathing, feeding and playing with them.
At 10 a.m., another team of volunteers will host about 40 students from the United Cerebral Palsy of Central California for a soccer clinic at Fresno City College, teaching them the basics of the beautiful game and the values of teamwork and dedication. In addition to the soccer clinic, the final group of volunteers will be at the UCPCC headquarters on Cedar and Ashlan avenues to visit with students who are unable to attend the clinic, as well as help organize the basement storage area and other housekeeping needs.
In 2018, the first annual #BuiltForFresno Day, Fresno FC and volunteers spent 275 hours giving back to the community at Terry's House of Community Medical Centers, Community Food Bank, and Boys & Girls Club of Fresno County.
