
Los Angeles' Sean Banks Named D-League.com Performer of the Week

NEW YORK, Feb. 11, 2008 - Sean Banks of the Los Angeles D-Fenders was today named D-League.com Performer of the Week for games played during the week of Feb. 4. Banks averaged 31.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in two games. Banks is the first member of the D-Fenders to earn the Performer of the Week Honor this season.
Banks, a 6-9 forward from Memphis, scored a career-high 42 points on Saturday, Feb. 9, including five three-pointers as the D-Fenders became the first team to defeat the Idaho Stampede on their home floor, and stopping an 18-game Stampede winning streak.
Banks, who leads the D-Fenders with 21.5 points per game to go with 5.5 rebounds per game and 3.3 assists per game, will represent Los Angeles in the second annual D-League All-Star Game presented by Spalding on Saturday, Feb. 16, on Center Court at NBA Jam Session presented by adidas. Banks' 21.5 points per game ranks him among the league leaders in scoring average.
Other top performers in the D-League last week included Colorado's Elton Brown, who averaged 20.7 points and 12.7 rebounds in three games; Tulsa's Nick Fazekas who averaged 17.5 points and 13.0 rebounds in two games while on assignment from the Dallas Mavericks; Austin's Keith Langford, who averaged 19.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists in two games; Iowa's Jackie Manuel who averaged 25.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in two games, and Dwayne Mitchell, who averaged 22.0 points ad 12.7 rebounds in two games for Iowa.
