Local boys back for second season
The San Angelo Stampede Express of the Intense Football League would like to wish everyone out there a Happy Thanksgiving. The team is thankful to have two hometown heroes returning for the 2006 season. The Stampede Express is proud to announce the return of Toby Davis and Barrett Dallmeyer.
Toby Davis, a Fullback/Linebacker, is a former Central Bobcat who played his college ball down the road at Howard Payne University in Brownwood. This will be his second season of indoor football and his second season with the Stampede Express. Toby could be the strongest player in all of indoor football with a bench press of 485 lbs. and a squat of 625 lbs. While playing through a hamstring injury last season, Toby still rushed for 96 yards and 1 touchdown. He finished last season with 108 all purpose yards and 3.0 tackles.
Barrett Dallmeyer is a former Angelo State University Ram who is also entering his second season in indoor football and second season with the Stampede Express. He is a 6'4", 280 lb. Offensive and Defensive Lineman from Austin. Last season in 12 games Barrett recorded 26.0 tackles, 19 of which were solos, including 5.5 for losses. He tied a single game team record last season with 2.0 tackles for losses in the March 25th game at Wyoming. Barrett also recorded 2 sacks, 3 quarterback hurries and blocked a kick last season.
In other team news, the Stampede Express continues the search for a new Head Coach. The field has been narrowed down and an announcement should be up coming in the following weeks. "We hope to make an announcement in mid-December or before the first of the year," says Co-owner Darlene Jones.
The Stampede Express will begin their 3rd season in the spring of 2006, with 7 action packed games at the San Angelo Coliseum. Season tickets are currently available at the Stampede Express offices located at the San Angelo Convention Center or by calling 947-DOWN (3696) or 653-9577. Thanksgiving turkeys, courtesy of Albertson's, are available with the purchase of 2 season tickets until the end of the day. Stampede Express Football... Get in the Game!
