Harrison, N.J. - Sky Blue FC (5-13-5, 20 points) earns a 1-1 draw against the Orlando Pride at Red Bull Arena in front of 8,314 fans. Carli Lloyd scored the equalizer in the 88th minute.

Orlando put the pressure on early and had opportunities in the first 10 minutes, but all their shots were sent wide of the goal. Pride forward Marta tested Kailen Sheridan with a curling shot through traffic in the 10th minute, but Sheridan was up for the task and made a diving save.

Pride defender Shelina Zadorsky put Orlando up 1-0 in the 18th minute. A free-kick was sent into the 18-yard box and skipped its way through to Zadorsky at the back post. Zadorsky was able to get a foot on it and send it into the back of the net.

Possession went back and forth between the two sides with some opportunities for both but nothing on frame. With stoppage time coming to an end, Marta stood over a free-kick and sent the shot in on goal but hit it off the crossbar.

The second half started off with Pride defender Ali Krieger almost scoring an own goal. Sarah Killion whipped in a corner kick that Krieger went to head away but sent it backward and hitting off the crossbar. Carli Lloyd came close to an equalizer but sent her header just over the crossbar in the 55th minute.

Sheridan came up big with a kick-save in the 60th minute as Pride forward Clair Emslie sent a low cross through the box as the Pride offense came rushing in on goal.

Sky Blue continued to pressure the Orlando defense with a nice buildup play in the 88th minute between Killion and Nahomi Kawasumi. Killion sent a ball into open space for Kawasumi on the left side of the box, who sent it back to Killion for a shot but was blocked.

Persistence was key for Lloyd who scored in the 88th minute to even the game up at 1-1. Killion stood over a corner kick and sent it into the head of Lloyd. With two defenders surrounding her, she rose above them both and redirected the header into the right corner of the goal.

Sky Blue had a chance to score one more in stoppage time as Elizabeth Eddy took on goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris one on one. Harris was able to block the first shot, and as Eddy went for the rebound, she was taken down and a foul was awarded to Orlando.

Sky Blue FC plays their final game of the season against the North Carolina Courage at WakeMed Soccer Park on Saturday, October 12th at 7 p.m. ET.
