New York Lizards News Release

Uniondale, NY (March 28, 2007) - The Long Island Lizards of Major League Lacrosse acquired defenseman Dan Cocchi from the Los Angeles Riptide, in a trade that sent attackman Wes Green, a 2008 3rd Round Collegiate Draft Pick and a Conditional 2008 Supplemental Draft Pick out west. Cocchi, a native of Hicksville, New York, will add even more athleticism and speed to an already dynamic defense.

"Dan is a phenomenal athlete who will strengthen our defense and help us in the transition game," said Lizards Head Coach Jim Mule. "We are glad to bring such a proven player back home to Long Island and can't wait to see him in Lizard green."

Cocchi started all 12 games for the Riptide in 2006 and was named to the MLL All-Star team. Before joining L.A. last season he played for the Baltimore Bayhawks and Philadelphia Barrage. Dan is a graduate of Towson University in Maryland where he finished his career as an honorable mention All-American and led the team to a Colonial Athletic Association championship in 2003.

Wes Green, who is a graduate of Adelphi University, was picked up by the Lizards in the 2006 Collegiate Draft. Green stepped up at the end of the year for the Lizards when he scored in back to back games against Denver and Rochester. At Adelphi, he was named to the NYCAC All-Conference First Team as well as NCAA First Team All-America.

Lizards 2007 tickets are available now, with single-game ticket prices as low as $16. For more information, contact the Lizards ticket office at 1-866-LIZARD-1, or visit www.longislandlizards.com.
