Linesman Carpentier On Doorstep Of Milestone
Published on March 17, 2010 under Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) News Release
BOUCHERVILLE, Wednesday, March 17, 2010 - Linesman Serge Carpentier, a veteran of nineteen seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, will officiate his 200th career playoff game this coming Friday at the Dave Keon Arena as the Val-d'Or Foreurs take on the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.
Carpentier, a Hull native, has the most playoff games under his belt among active linesmen. His colleague, Ãric Charron, leads the league in regular season appearances with 769.
"When I first started, I never realized that I would do it for so long. It's special to reach these kinds of milestones," said Carpentier. "Today, with the experience I've gained, I realize that there are still new challenges to face such as working with tomorrow's officials. I still have the passion, and as long as I have it, I will keep working the lines."
