Linde Selected as Ice New General Manager

INDIANAPOLIS, IN-- The Indianapolis Ice announced today that Larry Linde will be the new General Manager and team Governor of the Central Hockey League franchise.
Linde, 35, has been somewhat of a fixture with the Ice as he has spent seven years with the club. He began his sports marketing career as an intern with the IHL Ice 13 years ago and most recently served as the team's Senior Vice President.
"I'm thankful for the opportunity to lead this organization and look forward to the challenges that lie ahead," said Linde. "Our mission of providing quality, affordable family entertainment to this community is something I embrace."
Before returning to Indianapolis, Linde spent several years in Reno, Nevada. He served two years as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Reno Renegades formerly of the West Coast Hockey League. During this period, he was the recipient of a 1996 Ace Award presented by the American Marketing Association. He also served a stint as Sr. Vice President/General Manager for the Reno Chukars of the Western Baseball League (Independent) before rejoining the Ice during the 1997-98 season.
The Chicago, Illinois native first left the "Circle City" to pursue avenues with the Continental Basketball Association and the Central Hockey League. He was Director of Sales and Promotions from 1991-92 for the Tulsa Zone of the CBA and then spent three years as the Assistant General Manager of the Memphis RiverKings.
Linde graduated from Butler University in 1990 with a degree in broadcast communications/promotions and now lives in Indianapolis with his fiancée, Nicole.
His first priority as the new General Manager will be to spearhead the effort in finding the next head coach of the Indianapolis Ice.
