London Lightning News Release
(WINDSOR, ON) - The London Lightning get a measure of revenge on the Windsor Express Sunday afternoon as the Bolts use a huge fourth quarter to defeat the Express 113-99.
After 7 days off since their last game, the Lightning made their way back to the WFCU Center for their final game of their recent six-game road trip. London came out hot in the first quarter, outscoring the Express 33-29 while shooting an impressive 63% on 12-19 from the field.
London's struggles from deep would show heavily in the second quarter as Windsor was able to hold London to just 2-8 from deep while scoring a game-high 36 points before heading into the half with a 65-59 lead.
History has a way of repeating itself as London would struggle again against the Express in the third quarter, this time allowing Windsor to increase their lead from 6 to 9 heading into the final frame. But as fate would have it, London would use an incredible 29-2 run in the first 10 minutes of the fourth quarter to come from 11 points down and defeat the Express. London would end up outscoring Windsor 31-8 in the final 12 minutes.
Terry Thomas was named Player of the Game for the third straight game as the Canadian of the Year Candidate led the game in scoring and rebounds with 33 and 15 respectively, inducing 12 in the final quarter to lead the Lightning's comeback efforts. Cam Forte and newcomer Jordan Burns both added 17 points apiece off the bench. Starters Mareik Isom and Marcus Ottley added 16 and 14 points to round out the scoring for London.
Windsor was led by Tanner Stuckman and Nick Garth who both put up 19 points in the loss.
Former MVP Quinnel Brown added 13 points for the hometown team while Jachai Taylor (11 points) and William Claiborn (10 points) rounded out the scoring for Windsor.
