London Lightning News Release
(LONDON, Ontario) - Saturday night at Budweiser Gardens, in front of 8,264 people, the London Lightning struck the Windsor Express 113-107.
London finish the season with a record of 25-14.
Stephen Maxwell finished the game with a double-double, scoring 24 points and adding 15 rebounds.
Both Warren Ward and Akeem Wright ended the game with 20 points each.
The Express opened up an early 10 point lead, but the Lightning erased that outscoring Windsor 62-48 in the second and third quarters.
London was outrebounded by Windsor, but forced 18 turnovers, scoring 29 points off of those turnovers.
"Because this organization is so well supported by the fans, we had to win. It's a great thing to play to win and play every possession to win. The foundations of that are that there's still things to work on," said coach Kyle Julius. "When you put it all together, you come out and play hard. The goal is to win, and that's what we did tonight."
London starts the postseason against the Orangeville A's on Monday, May 2 at Budweiser Gardens. Tickets for the game are available at the Budweiser Gardens box office or online.
