Lightning Win 2017/2018 NBL Canada Championship

(Halifax, NS) - The London Lightning have won the 2017/2018 National Basketball League of Canada Championship for the forth time in franchise history with a 109-101 win in game 7 over the Halifax Hurricanes. With the series tied 3-3 and no team winning any games on the road, the Lighting pull together as a team and would not settle for anything less than a championship. The Lightning overcame injuries, a hostile crowd and a very talented Hurricanes team at home to win the NBL Canada trophy. Garrett Williamson was named the Finals MVP.

Doug Herring Jr. led the way with 29 points and 11 assists, Garrett Williamson scored 21 points. Kirk Williams Jr. had 19, Julian Boyd added 17 and Mo Bolden finished with 15.

The London Lightning will host an end of season open house to celebrate the 2018 NBL Championship and 2017-18 season. The Lightning team will be available for photos, autographs and interviews along with the Championship trophy.

When: Tuesday, May 22, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.

This will be the last chance to see all players before they return home for the summer.
