London Lightning News Release

(London, Ontario) For the third time in four days, the Lightning suited up without a blemish on their record. Game 3 took place against Saint John (0-1) in Harbour Station, New Brunswick, in front of a 2084 people crowd.

The start time, and being road weary, caught up with London, as they only scored 32 first half points. Eddie Smith lead all scorers with 8. Still that was enough to give the visitors a two point cushion heading in to the break. The third stanza saw London float ahead by a margin of 5 for most of the quarter.

Five was not enough - for London. They doubled that lead for most of the quarter before winning 81-70. It was the second consecutive double digit road win, and they did it in less than 24 hours. The Lightning have started the season undefeated, and bring their 3-0 record to their home court at the John Labatt Centre next Thursday against Quebec at 7 pm.

"My guys played great. It was a great defensive game and the entire roster played hard," Coach Michael Ray Richardson proudly explained. "I am really pleased with how we opened up the season. Anytime you can win back to back games on the road is great."

Four players on the Lightning roster finished the game in double figures. "It was a great team effort," Gabe Freeman recalled finishing the game with 11 points and 8 rebounds. "The team all played together, made a great defensive effort and we are happy to be returning to London with these wins under our belt."

Saint John drops to 0-2 on the regular season.
