London Lightning News Release
(LONDON, ON) - The London Lightning are excited to announce that we have re-signed forward, Mareik Isom, for the 2021-22 season.
The 6'9 forward returns to the Forest City for his third NBL Canada season after averaging 10.8 points 5.3 rebounds per game while also shooting 54% from the field, good for 6th best in the National Basketball League of Canada, in his first season with the Bolts. The Lightning will rely on Isom's veteran presence, high basketball IQ and flexibility when it comes to performing as a starter or coming off the bench.
With stops in the NBA G-League and NBL Canada with the Saint John Riptide, the former Arkansas-Little Rock and Texas University alum is entering his fourth year as a pro.
"The last go around, Mo didn't get to show what he is fully capable of as he was hampered by a wrist injury that kept him out of action for extended periods. He's healthy and eager to prove that he's a next level type of player and mind. Mo's a team first player who will do anything and everything to win and is the type of person we will build our culture around." - Head Coach Doug Plumb
"First and foremost, I want to thank God for allowing me and family to stay healthy through what has been a turbulent last two years to say the least. Secondly, really want to thank Coach Doug and the London Lightning organization for inviting me back to play. I'm looking forward to competing at a high level again, and completing our goal from the 2020 season of bringing another championship to London." - Mareik Isom
Catch Mareik and the rest of the Lightning this season at when they take the court at the Budweiser Gardens for their home-opener February 11th, 2022.
