
Lightning Defeat Mill Rats

(London, ON) In their second-last home game of the season, the London Lightning defeated the Saint John Mill Rats 100-95 in front of 3,076 fans at the Budweiser Gardens.
The Lightning's top scorer of the night was Tim Ellis with 24 points and 13 rebounds. Said Ellis, "The game went well but on the second half we really had to focus on playing offensively and making more baskets. This game is over with, we just have to regroup as a team and get ready for Saturday night."
DeAnthony Bowden was the second leading scorer with 21 points and Marvin Phillips had 13 rebounds as well.
The Lightning play their last regular season game Saturday, March 2 at 7:00PM at Budweiser Gardens against the Summerside Storm. Saturday night's game is also Emergency Services Appreciation Night. The police force will take on the fire department in a pre-game which is open to the public, beginning at 5:00PM at Budweiser Gardens.
The London Lightning are part of the National Basketball League of Canada. Founded in 2011, the National Basketball League of Canada is the country's only professional basketball league. NBL Canada is committed to developing the next generation of Canadian athletes and raising the excitement and awareness for basketball throughout the country.
