Lightning Clinch Best Record in NBL Canada
February 21, 2012 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada)
London Lightning News Release
In the second game of this road trip London displayed their top notch talent beating Moncton 119-84 in front of the fans at the Moncton arena. The signifi- cance of this win was not the large margin of victory, but rather that London clinched home court advantage throughout the playoffs.
Lightning Coach Michael Ray Richardson was able to use 11 players in the game tonight in an effort to spread the minutes around and rest starters. London was led to victory by Eddie Smith with 21 points while Rodney Buford closely followed with 19 points and 12 rebounds.
"We didn't perform to our potential last game, so we needed this win" explained Coach Richardson. "Any win on the road is significant for us, and being able to have the majority of our roster contribute tonight is great heading into the post season."
The Lightning continue their travels on the road for their next matchup against Quebec. They return to the John Labatt Centre on March 1st to rematch the Quebec Kebs at 7pm.
