London Lightning News Release

(Summerside, PEI) Tonight, the top team in the National Basketball League of Canada - the London Lightning - put its record on the line against its opponent from Canada's smallest province. The Summerside Storm has shown that it has a great deal of fight in them this year, as reflected in their middle-of-the pack standing. With only a four point lead at the half, the Lightning were still able to take the win at the end, 107-98, in front of the fans in Summerside.

"It was a great win after being off for one week," explained Lightning Coach Michael Ray Richardson. "We came out and played great defense and it was good to have DeAnthony back in our lineup. Overall it was the team effort on offense and defense as a whole that gained us this win."

DeAnthony Bowden, returning to the roster after an ankle injury, made his presence known scoring 18 points. Following his lead the Lightning had seven of their players finishing the game in double figures, led by Rodney Buford with 19 points.

The Lightning now have a full week off until they travel to Quebec to face the Kebs on December 27th before closing out 2011 with a visit to Saint John on the 29th. Both games can be viewed online by going to the Lightning's homepage.
