
Liberty Belles Help Four Charities

March 6, 2003 - Conshohocken - The Philadelphia Liberty Belles have chosen four different charities to donate a portion of their proceeds to.
The Liberty Belles players come from many areas, including Philadelphia, Delaware, New Jersey and Southeastern Pennsylvania. "There were so many charities that we wish we could help them all, but we have to decided to pick one charity from different areas that our players are in", states Marie Olsen. "We want to give back to the communities that brought us our talented players", she added.
General Manager, Alena Malatesta, explained, "Each charity will be recognized at each one of our home games." She further stated, "We are very excited about helping these wonderful and worthy organizations."
The charities for each home game will be as follows:
1. April 19, 2003 - Fellowship House in Conshohocken.
2. May 31, 2003 - Lancaster Boys and Girls Club.
3. June 7, 2003 - Delaware Women's Alliance for Sport and Fitness.
4. June 14, 2003 - Big Sisters of Philadelphia
The Liberty Belles will also be helping "Philabundance" at every game. There will be a container at every home game for fans to donate non-perishable items and canned goods.
Both Olsen and Malatesta commented that "this is what the Independent Women's Football League (IWFL) is all about".
