Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The IronPigs (6-10) play Game Three of a four-game series against the third-place Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (8-7) at PNC Field in Moosic -- the first set of the 2014 IronRail Series (which was won by SWB last season via a highly arbitrary tie-breaker)... With a 4-3 loss last night, the Pigs fell to 2-3 on this rain-shortened, seven-game North Division road trip... Scranton/W-B -- the Yankees' top affiliate -- has now won five of their last seven affairs since starting 3-5. Although failing to make the postseason in 2013, Scranton/W-B has been in the playoffs five times in its seven years since affiliating with New York, winning it all in 2008.
LHP Cesar Jimenez (0-0, 1.35) will start for LHV against RHP Caleb Cotham (0-0, 3.68).
First-Pitch is at 1:05 p.m.
EASTER BUNNIES!:
The Pigs have a 4-G winning streak on Easter Sunday, including a 5-4 walk-off win (Leandro Castro) last season on 5/5 vs. IND... Overall, LHV is 401 on Easter, with the lone defeat coming in their inaugural season on 4/27 vs. ROC (4/27/08)... They didn't play Easter '10 (4/4).
