Chicago Rush News Release

November 14, 2005 - The Chicago Rush announced today it has signed FB/LB Levelle Brown to a two-year contract, bringing the Northwestern University alum back for his second tour of duty with the Rush.

Brown (6-0, 245, Northwestern) originally played in Chicago during the 2003 and 2004 seasons, but spent last year with the Nashville Kats after being selected from Chicago with the fifth pick in the 2005 expansion draft.

"Getting Levelle back is definitely a positive as it will help our depth at the position," said Rush head coach Mike Hohensee. "We were disappointed to lose Levelle in last year's expansion draft and now feel really good about the flexibility it gives us at FB/LB with Levelle, Bob McMillen and Charlie Cook in our backfield."

Brown enjoyed the best season of his three-year career in 2005, rushing for 100 yards and seven touchdowns, and catching eight passes for 94 yards and a TD. Defensively, Brown recorded 18 tackles, three sacks, an interception, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovered in 13 games.

A member of Northwestern's 1995 and 1996 Big Ten championship teams, Brown had 12 carries for 62 yards and four touchdowns, along with six tackles, one sack and one interception in his previous stint with the Rush.

The Rush roster now includes 36 players under contract for the 2006 season. AFL teams are allowed to take 37 players to training camp in January, and must cut down to 24 by opening day.
