Letter From the SF Bulls President: Pat Curcio

June 20, 2013 - ECHL (ECHL)
San Francisco Bulls News Release

I can't thank everyone enough for the support you've shown in our inaugural season. But that was just the beginning. Year Two has begun with the release of our regular season and promotional schedule, and we're going to exceed all expectations.

Last season, we set new highs around the ECHL with the help of you, the fans. Bulls merchandise flew off the shelves unlike any other team in recent record. With Silicon Valley just down the road it wasn't surprising to see fans flock to the team's social media sites in droves. Nearly 25,000 fans "like" the Bulls on Facebook with our hope of getting to 50,000 before the end of next season.

But we don't want to stop with an amazing first season, we want to push ahead into the future and smash the ECHL's goal of 1,500 season tickets by the start of the season. We want to hit that mark by Labor Day and go from there; thus proving that the sports fans in the Bay Area are the greatest in the world.

CONTRIBUTIONS

In just one season in the City by the Bay, the Bulls generated over $10 million in revenue for area businesses. The team has donated thousands of tickets to non-profits and charities in the area to help spread the joy of ice hockey to those less fortunate.

In 2012-13, we saw a revitalized Cow Palace, which housed over 140,000 people to watch us a play, a number not seen at the old barn for decades. The Bulls were instrumental in helping to promote youth hockey in the Bay Area. We want to see more local talent reach the pros and the NHL.

A number of Bay Area celebrities took in Bulls games during the inaugural season, including Giants Pitcher Sergio Romo, Metallica's James Hetfield, Bob Weir from The Grateful Dead, Olympic Figure Skater Kristi Yamaguchi, Stanley Cup Champion Bret Hedican and Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest Champion Joey Chestnut. Visit the Cow Palace in season two and who knows who you'll run into.

We need our community, the whole Bay Area community, to help step up and reach our goal. Be a part of our family-friendly, affordable excitement right down the road!
