Allen Wranglers News Release
ALLEN, TX-There are some fights too big to fight alone; the Wranglers believe the battle with cancer is one of them. The Wranglers are teaming up with the American Cancer Society to honor and cheer on individuals affected by cancer. The team wants to encourage individuals fighting the disease and remember those who have lost their battle.
"Cancer makes you realize that every moment isn't always promised," running back Javid Milton said. "This is precious for us to go out and play this game. It's a gift."
The Wranglers are hosting a balloon release ceremony on Apr. 23rd at 5 p.m. at Allen Event Center. Individuals fighting or who have fought cancer are asked to attend the ceremony. Participating individuals will also be asked to lead the Wranglers onto the field before their 7:05 p.m. kickoff against the Wichita Wild.
The Wranglers will donate $5 back to the American Cancer Society for every ticket sold. Wrangler players will wear pink jerseys in the contest; these jerseys will also be entered in a silent auction for Wrangler fans. Bids for the autographed jerseys begin at $50.
