New Orleans VooDoo News Release


NEW ORLEANS (April 4, 2013) - The New Orleans VooDoo is to host Mojo's Monster Reader Night and a VooDoo Costume Contest during the April 19 home game against the Pittsburgh Power (0-2) in the New Orleans Arena at 7:30 p.m. CT.

Mojo's Monster Reader Initiative is a concentrated effort, by the New Orleans VooDoo Promotions, Community Involvement, Sales Staff, Players, and Director of Fun to become more visible to the children of New Orleans with an incentive program, approved by the school system, designed to encourage the children to read more books and reach their AR reading goals during each grade period for the remainder of the school year.

The New Orleans VooDoo has reached out to many elementary schools in Greater New Orleans and the surrounding areas. Children who participate in this program and meet their reading goals will receive a free ticket to the April 19th home game against the Pittsburgh Power.

This game is also a chance for LSU fans to witness former LSU quarter back Jordan Jefferson (6-5, 225, LSU) return to the field. In his AFL debut with the Pittsburgh Power, Jefferson passed for 196 yards and five touchdowns. After, his second game, Jefferson totals 367 passing yards for 7 touchdowns.

Also, VooDoo fans are encouraged to get their creative juices flowing and come up with their best VooDoo costume and participate in the Costume Contest where one special winner will receive $100 in VooDoo merchandise, courtesy of Monogram Express.

Come out and support your VooDoo on April 19 in the New Orleans Arena and give Jordan Jefferson a warm welcome home in your best VooDoo gear.
