Les Schwab Tires will provide live coverage of Spokane Chiefs hockey on Comcast channel 12 when the Tri-City Americans visit the Spokane Arena Saturday, March 11th. The game will be the sixth and final game that is carried live and ON DEMAND exclusively on Comcast.
The broadcast will begin at 7:00 and will replay Sunday morning at 11:00 on channel 14. The Tri-City game, along with the five previous game broadcasts, will also be available on Comcast's Video ON DEMAND.
The Chiefs will host the Americans for the sixth time in the Arena and face-off against their rival for the 12th and final time in the regular season. The Chiefs have posted a 3-2 record at home versus Tri-City.
KXLY-TV's Dennis Patchin will call the play-by-play while Jay Stewart will provide color commentary.
Also, Chiefs Assistant Coach Kevin Sawyer and the Les Schwab Tires Olympia Ice Machine will both be featured on this month's edition of Chiefs Insider, available exclusively on Comcast's ON DEMAND. The fifth episode of the season, as well as the four previous, can be accessed by Comcast Digital Cable customers to give them a behind the scenes look at the Spokane Chiefs.
ON DEMAND offers Comcast Digital Cable customers more control than ever before, with the ability to choose from movies, music, sports, news, instructional and entertainment programming and more, all with the functionality of a VCR.
Comcast launched ON DEMAND to its Spokane customers in 2005 and offers nearly 4,000 hours of programming ON DEMAND and expects to add thousands more hours of programming in the coming years. The service has become extremely popular, with Spokane customers viewing ON DEMAND programs more than 100,000 times a week, according to figures compiled by Comcast. Video on demand services are not available on satellite.
Saturday night is Buck Night presented by DirectBuy. The first 5,000 fans through the gates will receive a pair of CheerStix as they come through the gates. All night long, Coca-Cola products, hot dogs and popcorn will be available for only $1.
