July 3, 2010 - International Basketball League (IBL)
Albany Legends News Release
The #1 Albany Legends and the #4 Vancouver Volcanoes started the game off in competitive fashion, with the score close throughout much of the opening period. Vancouver led 12-11 at the 7:30 mark, but Albany charged and had a 26-20 lead with a minute remaining in the period. From there, Albany opened it up. Over the next 4 minutes, Albany went on an 11-2 run to go up 37-22 at the 9:10 mark. The scoring was pretty equal for the remainder of the period, with the teams going into the break with Albany leading 63-42. The Legends took control in the third, opening up a 40 point lead with an assault of constant attacks at the rim and perimeter shooting. But the Volcanoes wouldn't let this turn into a laugher, as they climbed back slowly and surely. It was 91-61 with 2:55 left in the third. The final was 124-105, with Albany winning a spot in the IBL Championship against the Bellingham Slam. The league will announce the official date and location of the championship within the next couple days.
