Las Vegas Legends News Release
Las Vegas, NV - The San Diego Sockers have been hot, and the Legends have been winless against them in team history. This all changed on Saturday night in front of an enthusiastic pro crowd in San Diego.
The Las Vegas Legends have been making statements in the league by consistently outscoring their opponents and suppressing their counter attacks. Another statement they aren't to be pushed around by San Diego anymore. The Legends won this pivotal match against their Pacific Division rivals on the road.
With key saves by Zeke Sanchez and a monumental effort of teamwork climaxing in goals for eight Legends players, they came away with a 12-9 victory. Las Vegas local and Legends standout performer of the game was Eric Guzman (#7) who was credited with exceptional play throughout the game as well as four goals to lead the evening for the Legends. Ricardinho, in his second game back returning from an elbow dislocation has seemed to be reenergized ala last season and scored two goals for his efforts in the match.
The win advances Las Vegas (9-1) into the round-of-8 in the U.S. Open Cup while pushing the Legends two games ahead of the Sockers in the PASL Pacific Division.
