Legends Fall to Energy

With the absense of Kenny Satterfield the Edmonton Energy came out in the first quarter just like their nickname with Energy. The Energy behind Lee Scruggs' 9 points and 2 rebounds came out firing in the early part of the First quarter as they came out with a 26-4 lead but the Legends weren't going away yet as they went on a 9-0 run behind great defensive pressure. The Turnover was 13 to 10 in favor of the Energy in the first quarter in which the Energy lead 31-16. The Second quarter had a lot of energy by both teams which saw a total of 6 technicals and an ejection from Stephen Sir and Lloyd Clinton. Lee Scruggs lead the way in the first half with 15 points 5 rebounds and an assist. Skousen Harker had 12 points 4 rebounds and 1 assist for the Energy. Deandre Thomas led the way for the Legends with 14 points 7 rebounds who trail the Energy 67-44 at the half. The Third quarter saw the Legends try to make up the defecit as they pulled within 12 at one point. Gordie Klaiber made some key 3's along with Chris Grant making some quick lay-ups and grabbing rebounds for second chance baskets The Legends shot 57% in the Third quarter to pull within 17. The Legends shot off like a rocket in the 4th quarter. Lloyd Johnson had 8 points in the first 6 minutes of the 4th quarter along with Damone Morris who had 8 points in the same time span as the Legends got within 9 with 5:21 to go. The Energy kicked it into another gear hitting their next 4 shots which put them up by 13. The game then saw another 2 ejections and a technical as Damone Morris got a technical and Jermaine Tate and the Coach of the Legends Derrick Rowland each was ejected from the game. As the Energy showed the Legends they just had more energy then the home team. Benson Callier led the Energy with 29 points 4 rebounds and 1 assist. Skousen Harker had 22 points 6 rebounds and 1 assist. The Legends were led by Deandre Thomas who had 24 points and 14 rebounds. Lloyd Johnson had 20 points 4 rebounds and 4 assist. The Energy come back to the Washington Avenue Armory for the rubber game against the Legends as the battle for first place continues Monday night at 7:00 P.M.
