Legends Fall to 905, Return Home Friday

MISSISSAUGA, ON- The Texas Legends (12-13) finished up their international road trip with a 108-114 loss to Ontario's Raptors 905 Wednesday in Mississauga.

After nearly two minutes without a basket, the Raptors 905 started the scoring off with a bang, going on a 6-0 run before Texas made the board. Texas evened the score for the first of nine times and kept it close, finishing the period down by three. The Legends took over five minutes into the second and ultimately grabbed their largest lead of the night (+7). After going scoreless in the first, Tony Wroten tabbed 11 of his 15 points in the second to keep the Legends alive. The 905 streaked through 8 straight points to jump back ahead in the final seconds, but Wroten had the last basket to carry the Legends into halftime up 45-44.

The two teams stayed neck-and-neck through the third before the 905's 70% shooting edged them up six nearing the final quarter. The 905 took their largest lead of the night (+11) two minutes into the fourth, but Texas' CJ Williams knocked down back-to-back threes to pull the Legends within one with two minutes remaining. With seconds on the clock, the Legends again faced a one-point deficit, but Brady Heslip managed seven points to the Legends' two to seal the victory for the home team.

Manny Harris led all scorers with 35 points, adding 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. Williams knocked down a team-high four threes to finish with 18 points, 4 assists, and 2 blocks. Kyle Collinsworth neared a double-double with 9 rebounds, 9 assists while adding 4 points, 2 steals, and 2 blocks, and Mavericks-assignee AJ Hammons filled the stats line with 8 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 blocks.

The 905 had six players in double-digits, led by Brady Heslip off the bench with 24 points, 6 assists. Edy Tavares sank 6-of-7 for 15 points while grabbing 9 boards, 3 assists, and 2 blocks.
