Las Vegas Legends News Release

LAS VEGAS - The Las Vegas Legends continue their winning streak as the Mexico Toros proved unable to stop the Legends ability to put the ball in the net. Not even with the aid of Cesar Romero, forward for MLS Chivas USA, could the Toros match the Legends striking ability, resulting in a seven goal loss.

Opening strong with a 3-1 lead in the first quarter, the Legends did not take their previous win over the Toros lightly. Scoring within the first four minutes, Rigo Garcia set the field for two more goals scored by Ricardo Sobreira and Enrique Tover in the following six minutes. Forward, Alexander Caceres put the Toros on the scoreboard in the eleventh minute when we scored a goal assisted by Cesar Romero.

Both teams came back to the field with more energy, as they ended the first half 7-3 with the Legends still leading. Eric Guzman, Rodrigo Barbirato and Ivan Simental each scored their first goals in the game against the Mexican team, while Tovar and Sobreira added a second goal each. The Legends were met with resistance when Caceres and Romero of the Toros broke through their defensive line and scored one goal each.

Eight strategic goals were scored in the third quarter. The Toros started the second half determined to make a comeback, matching the Legends goal for goal. Their focus diminished after a vigorous five minutes however and the Legends pulled ahead in the quarter scoring six goals in all.

The game ended at 16-9, bringing the Legends to 5-1 in the PASL Southwest Division.

"We're motivated, and we will keep working to keep our winning streak alive," said Roberto Garcia, midfielder. "We are playing well together, and have a good team rhythm going. If we need any improvement, we need to stay focused on defense for four quarters."
