
Legends Acquire Returning Player Rights to Joe Wieskamp

FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends have acquired the returning player rights to forward Joe Wieskamp in a trade with the Wisconsin Herd. In exchange, Texas sends the returning player rights to Marcus Bingham and a 2024 1st round pick (via Raptors 905).
Wieskamp (6-6, 205, Iowa) was drafted by the San Antonio Spurs with the 41st overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft and ultimately signed to a two-way contract. Wieskamp played 30 regular season games with San Antonio and 28 games with Austin where he averaged 15.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.1 steals. Last season, Wieskamp was drafted by Wisconsin with the 2nd overall pick in the G League Draft. He played 18 games with the Herd and earned two NBA Call-Ups to the Toronto Raptors. In 28 G League games (split between Wisconsin and 905), Wieskamp averaged 15.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.1 assists.
The Muscatine, Iowa native was two-time Iowa Gatorade Player of the Year and Iowa Mr. Basketball. He played three seasons with the Hawkeyes averaging 13.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.5 assists across 97 career games and earning Big Ten honors every season.
