(Rochester, NY) - In keeping with the holiday spirit, Lax Facts is offering new subscribers a chance to win prizes by signing up for the Rochester Knighthawks and Rochester Rattlers official newsletter. Fans have a shot at winning a Rochester Rattlers lacrosse helmet, tickets to the Knighthawks' 2008 season opener, an autographed John Grant lacrosse ball, T-shirts and a Rattlers' game-worn jersey.

To enter, go to Lax Facts and fill out the registration form at knighthawks.net or rochesterrattlers.com. The winners will be announced online on Thursday, December 27th.

Existing members will automatically be entered to win four premium seats to a Knighthawks' game and four passes to the President's Lounge to enjoy free food before the game.

The email-based publication provides breaking news, game stories, player and coaches' interviews and player profiles each week. The newsletter also gives fans access to ticket packages and discounts throughout the National Lacrosse League and Major League Lacrosse seasons.

The defending champion Knighthawks begin their 14th season with a home-and-home series against the rival Buffalo Bandits. The game is a rematch of last year's East Division Finals. Rochester opens the season on Friday, January 11th at HSBC Arena. On Saturday, January 12th, the Knighthawks will raise their championship banner prior to hosting the Bandits at 7:35 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester War Memorial.

Rochester captured the 2007 NLL Champion's Cup on May 12th, defeating the Arizona Sting 13-11 at Jobing.com Arena in Glendale, Arizona. The win was the team's 15th straight and capped a 17-2 season. The championship was the second in the franchise's history. The Knighthawks last won the title in 1997.

The Rochester Rattlers finished the 2007 season with a trip to the MLL Semifinals. During the regular season, the Rattlers finished second in the Eastern Conference with a 9-3 record. The nine wins set a franchise record. Rochester also established a league record with 34 power-play goals and 129 assists. Further, the team set a team record for goals with 208.
