BLOOMINGTON - The Bloomington Edge led briefly early in the third quarter but fell 57-47 to the Dodge City Law in Champions Professional Indoor Football League play on Saturday night at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.

The only scoring in the first quarter was a 23-yard field goal by Alex Fambrough to give the Law a 3-0 advantage. Dodge City pushed their lead to 16-0 in the second period on a 15-yard scoring catch by Brandon Venson and one-yard keeper by Joshua Floyd, but the Edge countered on the next two possessions with scores from a 13-yard catch by Marcus Lewis and a seven-yard run by LaVaughn Macon to cut the deficit to 16-14 with 1:22 before halftime. The Law used a 13-yard pass to Maurice Young followed by a 22-yard field goal by the Edge's Eric Broughton to set the halftime score at a 23-17 Dodge City lead.

The Edge's only lead came at 24-23 with 11:54 left in the third period on a 15-yard pass to Young, but the Law answered less than two minutes later with a 22-yard scoring strike to Young. The ensuing kickoff bounced off an Edge up-man and back into the Law end zone for a safety to cut the guests' advantage to 30-26, but the Edge came up empty on the possession that followed and the Law extended the lead on a two-yard run by Floyd with 1:37 remaining to put the Edge behind 37-26 heading into the fourth quarter.

The teams traded one-yard scoring runs by the Edge's Andre Raymond and the Law's Floyd early in the final stanza, and the Edge cut the deficit to 44-41 with 8:55 to play on a 22-yard pass from Charles Dowdell to Macon followed by a two-point conversion run by Raymond. A seven-yard carry by Floyd with 3:22 remaining pushed the Law ahead 50-41, and the Edge fumbled the kickoff away to the Law to allow an insurance score on a five-yard run by D.D. Holyfield with 1:45 remaining for a 57-41 lead. The Edge scored two plays into the following possession with 1:20 remaining on a 15-yard pass to De'Andre Eagle to cut the margin to 57-47, but the Law recovered the onside kickoff and kneeled out the clock.

Floyd led the Law with a 15-for-23 night through the air with one interception and three touchdowns for 188 yards while Dowdell was 19-of-27 for the Edge with four touchdowns and no interceptions for 180 yards.
