This past week the XFL reached the halfway point of its season, the American Hockey League's Springfield Thunderbirds signed a five-year affiliation with the NHL St. Louis Blues and two-time NBA-All Star Forward Zach Randolph joined the Big3 as a member of the Trilogy. Highlights from this week are from the XFL, Canadian Football League, National Lacrosse League, Major League Soccer, United Soccer League Championship, NBA G League, American Hockey League, Western Hockey League, Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Pacific Coast League and Major League Rugby.

Zach Randolph has agreed to become Trilogy's next captain. A two-time NBA All-Star, Randolph was a big part of the Memphis Grizzlies "Grit and Grind" teams. Drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers, Randolph played for five NBA teams and was known for his ferocious post-play and rebounding ability.

HOCKEY

American Hockey League

The Springfield Thunderbirds announced that the franchise has signed a five-year affiliation agreement with the NHL Stanley Cup Champion St. Louis Blues. The agreement will begin with the 2020-2021 season and run through the 2024-2025 season.

After the Bridgeport Sound Tigers scored three unanswered goals to tie things up, Terry Broadhurst sealed the win in the shootout.

Quebec Major Junior Hockey League

National Women's Hockey League

A tie in the voting has resulted in a pair of deserving players from the league's top two teams sharing this season's NWHL Most Valuable Player Award: Jillian Dempsey of the Boston Pride, and Allie Thunstrom of the Minnesota Whitecaps. Dempsey led the league in scoring, while Thunstrom was first in goals. Dempsey's linemate McKenna Brand finished third in the voting for MVP.

The Nashville Sounds Baseball Club, on behalf of owners Frank Ward and Masahiro Honzawa, has announced a donation of $100,000 to Music City Inc., the 501c(3) charitable foundation of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp. The funds will go towards providing immediate and direct support to families that have been affected by the tornadoes in Nashville.
