April 30, 2019 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Last week the Arena Football League started its 32nd season, the Canadian Premier League began its first ever season and the WNBA unveiled a TV deal with CBS Sports Network to broadcast 40 games this season. Highlights from this week are from the Arena Football League, American Arena League, Major League Soccer, Canadian Premier League, National Women's Soccer League, Pacific Coast League, Ontario Hockey League, and the National Lacrosse League.
Canadian Football League
The Canadian Football Hall of Fame (CFHOF) and Museum's stellar Class of 2019 features one of the Canadian Football League's (CFL) top Canadian running backs, three receivers who were dominant in relatively short CFL careers, a player who excelled at two positions, a transformative figure in Saskatchewan football and a legendary university coach from British Columbia.
Arena Football League
DraftKings and the Arena Football League (AFL) have partnered to launch a new daily fantasy sports game ahead of the AFL's 2019 season. Customers can now submit contest entries and get even closer to the fast-paced action on the turf that begins April 26th. This AFL offering is the 12th daily fantasy sports category for DraftKings, making the company the leader in available sports among fantasy operators.

Indoor Football League
The six-time world champion Arizona Rattlers (7-0) announced that they have signed the 2018 IFL MVP quarterback Drew Powell, as the team begins the second half of the 2019 Indoor Football League (IFL) season. Powell spent the 2018 season with the Iowa Barnstormers where he completed 154-of-226 passes for 1,604 yards and 34 touchdowns and just four interceptions.
American Arena League
On Saturday morning AAL CEO, Tony Zefiretto announced, "It is with a heavy heart to share; late last night, AAL President, Jack Bowman passed away." For most of the last seven months, Jack was confined to a hospital bed as he battled to recover from a variety of illnesses. He fought to the very end."
The American Arena League has already been in discussions with leagues and additional teams for the 2020 season. AAL CEO, Tony Zefiretto shared, "Over the last two years, many teams and leagues have requested to join forces with the American Arena League. Just last year we entertained approximately 50 teams and a few leagues too. That included teams and leagues from Mexico and Canada. For a variety of reason, they just were not the right fit."

Women's National Basketball Association
The Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) and CBS Sports announced a multi-year partnership in which CBS Sports Network will televise live WNBA games beginning with the upcoming 2019 season. CBS Sports Network will feature national coverage of 40 live WNBA games in primetime and on weekends, beginning on Saturday, May 25 (8:00 PM, ET), when the Minnesota Lynx host the Chicago Sky.

Canadian Premier League
York 9 FC defender Ryan Telfer scored the first goal in Canadian Premier League history against Forge FC. The game ended in a 1-1 tie.
United Soccer League Championship
Birmingham Legion FC scored a late stoppage time goal by Prosper Kasim to earn the first home win in club history, a 1-0 result over fellow USL Championship expansion side Loudoun United FC.
United Soccer League One
Chattanooga Red Wolves SC will build a state-of-the-art, soccer-specific stadium in East Ridge as part of a mixed-use development with living, working and entertaining opportunities. Team owner Bob Martino presented renderings and the layout for the area, which will include the first-class professional stadium, housing, retail, restaurants, a hotel and significant greenspaces in a $125 million investment in East Ridge and Chattanooga.
National Women's Soccer League
This hustle and placement from your current leader in the NWSL in goals with four by North Carolina Courage forward Crystal Dunn against the Houston Dash is something else.
Chicago Red Stars defender Casey Short scores from long distance against Reign FC:
The South Carolina Stingrays, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Washington Capitals and AHL's Hershey Bears, announced that Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Spiros Anastas has been relieved of his duties and will not return for the 2019-20 season. Assistant Coach Steve Bergin has been named the ninth Head Coach in franchise history.
Ontario Hockey League
Edmonton Oilers prospect Dmitri Samorukov posted his first OHL hat-trick, getting in on every goal as the Guelph Storm avoided elimination once again with a 4-0 road win in Saginaw.
National Lacrosse League
