INDIANAPOLIS- This Friday, August 8th at 7:00pm is your last chance of the season to be on international television. For the last time in 2003, Fox Sports World will be coming to town to broadcast LIVE from Kuntz Stadium as your Indiana Blast play host to divisional rivals the Minnesota Thunder.
The Blast are undefeated in their Fox Sports World matches over the last two years with a draw against the Rochester Rhinos in 2002 and a win over the Cincinnati Riverhawks in June of 2003.
It's Union Planters Thunderstix night. The first 500 fans will receive a pair of Thunderstix at the front gate.
It's also 2003 Indiana Blast Soccer Camps Reunion night sponsored in part by Soccer Unlimited and Kappa USA. All participants in the 2003 camps will receive FREE admission to the game by wearing their Indiana Blast Camp T-shirt.
Gates will open at 6:00pm. A full crowd is expected so plan to arrive early.
THIS WEEK-After taking today off, the Blast are back at practice the rest of the week as they prepare to host the Minnesota Thunder Friday night at 7:00pm.
LAST WEEK-The Blast traveled to Minnesota last Saturday evening to earn a 2-2 draw. After an own goal by Minnesota late in the match, Michael Mucino was able to tie up the score in the 90th minute on a cross from Godfrey Tenoff to send the match into extra time.
On Sunday, after battling Minnesota for 110 minutes the night before, the Blast fell to the Milwaukee Wave United 6-0.
UPCOMING APPEARANCES-Jamar Beasley, Ari Dolegowski, Justin Lucas, and Matt Reiswerg will be guest grillers at BD's Mongolian Barbeque on Wednesday, August 6th from 6-8pm. All Blast fans are encouraged to attend. BD's Mongolian Barbeque is located at 3838 E. 82nd Street.
NEXT HOME GAME- The Blast's next home game will be Sunday, August 24th at 5:35pm as they host the visiting Charleston Battery for the second time in as many seasons. In 2002, the Blast went to double overtime with the Battery, earning them a 0-0 draw.
